Help Scott, Marie, and Jessie Rebuild from the Eaton Fire
Donation protected
My father-in-law and his family (Scott, Marie, and Jessie) lost their house in the Eaton Canyon fire early Wednesday morning (January 8). Fortunately, they are all safe. However, they had to evacuate very quickly Tuesday night with very little - a few important things and the clothes on their backs. Insurance will cover a good portion of what they lost, but it won’t cover everything. They not only need to rebuild their house, they need to figure out where to live for probably 2+ years while that process happens. They need everything from complete new wardrobes to toiletries to school supplies to electronics and furniture. Scott had lived in this house for 20 years. It was the place my wife, Michelle, lived while she was a senior in high school and home during college. It was where Scott and Marie have lived for their whole marriage. It was the only home Jessie (10) had ever known. Everything she played with was there - all her stuffed animals, art supplies, soccer gear, and the piano given to them from Scott’s grandmother. Something like that is irreplaceable, but we want to help them replace everything that can be replaced.
That same morning their house was burning, Jessie’s school burned down as well. She will likely be starting again in a new school once things settle down here. They are all in good spirits considering the circumstances, but we would love to surprise them with a ton of support to help during this time.
Thanks for reading and for giving whatever you can. Every bit will help. We are so appreciative of your support and love.
