Help Scott until his disability kicks in
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Michelle; the mother of Scott's daughter, Evelyn. Scott is in need of some short term help with everyday living expenses while waiting for his disability benefits to kick in. He's used almost all of his savings since he's been off of work since June. He applied for disability in June, but there's a mandatory wait of at least 5 months and his application didn't get reviewed until August (and they don't count the month that they review). That being said, he's set to receive benefits sometime around February.
Many of you know Scott has a hereditary disease known as Polycystic Kidney Disease, PKD for short. He inherited this from his mom, as did one of his brothers. There are 600,000 people diagnosed in the USA with this condition. Scott is in Stage 5, which means he is on dialysis in order to maintain his kidney function, which is only at about 6%. He is also on the transplant list. A living donor is preferred, of course.
Can we help Scott get through and shed some light on his dark days? Not only does he have to deal with the physical disability of feeling sick most days, but also his mental health in being worried about not being able to be around to watch our daughter grow, let alone the worry that no one who is awaiting a disability benefit, should have to even think about! Let's give a little light to Scott and please consider donating to help relieve some anxiety and worry that he shouldn't even have to have. Every little bit adds up. Thank you so much for considering! Please Share ♥️
