Help Scrap Soils Expand Composting Efforts

Scrap Soils is a Detroit-based composting nonprofit committed to diverting food waste for a more sustainable Detroit.

Since resuming service in the fall of 2024, we have experienced tremendous growth in residential, commercial, and event food waste pickups. As our food waste pick-up volume continues to grow, we anticipate the need for a new vehicle to ensure we provide the most efficient and accessible service for Detroit. This progress has highlighted an urgent need for increasing logistic capacity. We are seeking $25,000 to help us acquire another vehicle that will enable us to continue and expand our efforts in building a more sustainable future for our community.

However, the grant is structured as a reimbursement, meaning we need to raise the funds upfront to access this incredible opportunity.
