My heart is breaking for my younger brother, Sean Kolodji, who’s heart was actually broken. He had open-heart surgery yesterday, March 3, to replace his aortic valve due to a congenital defect. He is in the ICU. This is day one of a long road to recovery, that which will prevent him from working for almost 3 months.

He is self-employed, without any insurance to cover his lost income while disabled. As the major contributor, his family will be financially strained.

Additional expenses will be incurred for medical treatment co-pays and for his wife, Jenny, to be near him in a hotel for up to a week, as he is hospitalized over 2 1/2 hrs from home.

Sean is the best bro, friend, dad, and partner I know. He’s phenomenal with all children. We refer to him as the “baby whisperer.” He’s kind to the core and has made it his mission to alleviate pain in others.
