Help Sebastian Train with Spain's Elite Soccer Teams

DREAM JOURNEY - ELITE SOCCER GOALKEEPER

Hello Friends!!

My name is Sebastian Verdugo Varela, a Fall 2024 incoming freshman student-athlete on Presidential Scholarship at SMCC in Phoenix, Az. and goalkeeper for the Men’s Soccer Team. A unique opportunity has presented itself and it would immensely accelerate my childhood dream of playing professional goalkeeper in a top world league. Spain’s La Liga Honor/Nacional coaches, scouts, and academic directors were impressed by my dedication, skills, ability, discipline and leadership displayed in several practices/games this month. An academic scholarship was offered to me at MIFRA Academy in Zaragoza, Spain, along with a potential spot as goalkeeper for Racing Club Zaragoza. This invitation also includes professional tryouts set up for me with several other Liga Honor/Nacional Teams they work with.

The funds raised will help pay for my travel to Spain, room/board at Academy and other related student-athlete living expenses from Aug ’24 – May ‘25. The tremendous exposure to elite world class soccer training and competition to go along with international academics is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I will continue to focus on academics, but the opportunity to also develop, grow as a person and showcase myself in special trainings and tryouts along with 30+ games at Liga Honor/Nacional competitive level for one year is TRULY UNIQUE!

Only financial reasons prevent me from accepting this special opportunity and ‘fast tracking’ the pursuit of my childhood dream of playing professionally at the highest levels.

Any amount you contribute to help fulfill my dream and capitalize on this special opportunity is greatly and truly appreciated. I plan to pay it forward someday soon to other young student-athletes.
