I'm making this GoFundMe for a family friend who's in dire need of help. My friend is a non binary black Muslim person who had to leave their home because of abuse they received for their sexuality when they were seventeen. Ever since they've had to live a life full of hardships and poverty.
My friend came out as gay to their very religious and conservative family when they were 17 and because of that they had to endure mental, verbal and physical abuse, death threats and murder attempts from their parents and siblings. Because of that, they made the very difficult decision to leave for the only place they knew as home and enter the foster system. But as we all know it, it's very hard for an almost adult to get the help they need and deserve in the foster system. Because of that my friend became homeless at the age of 18.
Since then my friend has been homeless, sexually assaulted whilst being homeless, beaten, targeted and harassed because of their sexuality and robbed multiple times and this led to my friend attempting suicide multiple times because they couldn't get the help they needed.
I'm starting this go fund me for them so they are able to live a new life without being scared of the future or stressed about how they'll meet ends meet for food, clothes, therapy etc. I am begging you to share this with your loved ones during this month of Pride and donate as much as you can.
The main goal with this fundraiser is for them to have money to pay off their debts since it's the biggest issue in their life right now. These debts are about to make them become homeless again. The left over will go to savings and for their therapy. So please help me save my friend from reliving their past trauma.
