Help Selena and Ocean fix their “new” car
Hi loves. I just spent our savings on a new, used car. It was the most money I have ever spent on anything. It was our savings. This was the first time that I even had a mechanic check out the car before buying it. He gave me a green light, saying that the car had clearly been well cared for. I was so very in love with it and so was Ocean. The back of the wagon made a perfect playpen, for when we were on the road and Ocean needed a break, from driving. It felt so good to have a safe car, for once.
About a month ago, the car started really acting up and the check engine light started flashing. We thought it just needed new spark plugs. Then, I got a call from the mechanic saying that the head gaskets needed to be replaced. I was so disappointed because one of the reasons I chose to buy this car was that the head gaskets had already been replaced. I had only owned the car for two months.
Turns out the shop I took our car too was the sister shop of the one who repaired the head gaskets just over 20,000 miles before. They decided to honor the warranty, even though it was expired. They were going to fix our car, for free!
Then…I got another call from the mechanic. The car needs a whole new engine! They have been searching, daily, for a decent used engine, and have been unable to find one. My only option is to get a new short block (engine), from Subaru. The shop is offering to do much of the work, for free. They are not charging for labor! However, I need to buy a new engine and just do not have the funds for it. We would be so very grateful to our community for this support.
