Help send my son Nico to Tanzania to volunteer!
Donation protected
Greetings, I am creating a GoFundMe to raise funds to help send my son Nico to Zanzibar, Tanzania, this summer for a one-month trip for high school students. The purpose of the journey, offered through ShapeNW, is to provide students with an immersive cultural experience. Nico has a passion for serving others, and this is an opportunity he has wanted to participate in for two years. He has secured the initial $1000.00 non-refundable deposit and needs to raise an additional 3200.00 by the end of January. He will spend one month in Tanzania digging wells and working with the local youth repairing schools. He knows the privilege he benefits from here in the U.S. and wants to take this opportunity to experience a different culture while challenging himself to learn, grow, and serve others. Nico intentionally takes the time to learn about oppression and inequity and puts that knowledge into practice. He is a 4.0 student, an athlete, involved in various clubs that support the community and has a heart of a humanitarian. Nico plans on attending Clark College as a high school Junior next fall. His goal is to complete his AA and earn his high school diploma through the Running Start program, and he plans on applying to the University of Washington. He believes this trip will help him on his journey while helping others. I am calling on my friends, family, community and beyond to help raise the money to secure his trip. Nico said if he raises the money, he will commit to paying it forward when he begins working next year. I appreciate your support. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions.
