Help send our delegation to APALA’s convention!

Chinese Progressive Association (CPA) is raising funds so our home care worker leaders can attend the APALA convention held in Seattle this August. This convention is a valuable opportunity for AAPI workers from across the country to come together in conversation and learning. Although our worker leaders were able to receive generous scholarships from APALA to assist them in attending the conference, there are still additional costs we are fundraising for including sending supporting CPA staff, meals, and additional activities for our worker leaders to fully experience the city. We are launching this fundraiser with the goal of $1000 to ensure our delegation has the best experience in Seattle. Your contribution, big or small, would be greatly appreciated!

The Massachusetts chapter of APALA was formed in 2015 by a committed group of local AAPI labor leaders with the goal of unifying community and labor organizations to fight for the interests of AAPI workers in Massachusetts and for fostering leadership development among AAPI workers. Since then, our chapter has united AAPI workers across industries and supported each other in our shared work, whether it is in a unionizing campaign, negotiating a contract, or responding to many of the urgent needs which emerged during the COVID pandemic. With its grassroots focus, our chapter has prioritized electing rank and file union members as our chapter's officers in order to give them the opportunity to build their leadership skills. Attending the biennial APALA conventions are an important part of continuing to build the leadership capacity of our workers.
