***Our initial goal of $30,000 has been met to pay for the repatriation of Phani Pilli and also provide additional financial support to the family. CTA & TAC are deeply moved with the overwhelming response from the Indian community. We will keep you posted on on the repatriation updates.***
We are deeply saddened that Phani Kumar Pilli, a young Telugu student studying at SAIT, has unexpectedly passed away on December 13th 2024 due to a Cardiac Arrest. Phani came from a poor family background in India and is the eldest son, who carried the hopes of his entire family. He dreamt to achieve something big in life and uplift his family through his hard work and belief. His family back home is very shocked with this news and have no financial resources to arrange for transportation of the body.
Executive committees of both Telugu Association of Calgary (TAC) and Calgary Telangana Association (CTA), along with some kind-hearted members, have come together to support his family during this incredibly difficult time. They have already reached out to Indian embassy in Vancouver, working with local investigating authorities and funeral home, in facilitating the transportation of the body to India.
To support Phani’s family, as they are processing this traumatic loss, we are organizing a fundraiser to help with funeral/transportation expenses and to provide financial relief to his grieving family.
This is an urgent need and we kindly request your contributions, no matter how big or small, support his family in their time of need. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference during this heart breaking period. Thank you for your compassion and support.
Please share this widely within your circles.
