Help Send Scott to the Democratic National Convention

Hi friends! I’m very excited to share that I have been elected by the people of Maryland’s 4th Congressional District to serve as a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention, where I will vote to nominate Joe Biden as our Democratic nominee and help adopt the platform of the Democratic party. Due to my current financial situation, I have organized this fundraiser to help afford the high costs of attending the convention. I cannot overstate how grateful I am to be given this amazing experience. My family has lived in Prince George’s County for over a century, so the opportunity to represent my community at the convention truly is the honor of a lifetime.

I have been engaged with Democratic politics and progressive organizations for many years now, which started when I was introduced to advocacy and political organizing at the University of Maryland, College Park. Flash forward to now and I have worked on four campaigns, organized countless students to elect Democrats as the President of the College Democrats of Maryland, interned for Congressman John Sarbanes on Capitol Hill, and staffed Chairman Will Smith in the State Senate. Each of these opportunities has had a huge impact on my life, and I am appreciative of all of the people who supported my work in these roles through difficult situations in my personal life.

Due to financial hardship, I withdrew from my studies at the University of Maryland earlier this year and instead focused my time and energy on working multiple jobs to save up to complete my degree. It is my current intention to return to my studies within the next year; however, attending the Democratic National Convention presents another financial burden that could further delay the completion of my degree. For this reason, I am asking for your contribution to help offset the cost of attending the convention and representing Maryland's 4th Congressional District in nominating Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee for president without inhibiting my academic pursuits.
