Help Send SDSU Student Journalists to ACP
Donation protected
The Daily Aztec, San Diego State University's student newspaper, has trained future generations of journalists for more than a century. Unfortunately, our editorial success is regularly impacted by budget constraints that prevent us from making certain opportunities available to our staff.
The ACP College Media Convention is one of those opportunities. In years past, we have managed to send a handful of reporters to the three-day convention where they attended back-to-back lectures, networked with professionals and took home numerous awards.
This year, the newspaper cannot afford to send a single person to the convention.
Our goal with this campaign is to send at least 10 staff members to San Francisco for this year's convention in February. We would like to pay for staffers' registration fees at the very least (early-bird registration costs $135) but would love to be able to supplement the costs of lodging and transportation as well. The more people we are able to send, the better!
The opportunity to attend this convention can be monumental for a student journalist. They are given the opportunity to network with professionals and fellow student journalists who come from all over the country. The convention also features award ceremonies where past Daily Aztec staff members have taken home numerous Best of Show awards.
Three days of educational sessions give students the opportunity to learn about topics they might not hear about in the classroom. Students also often work together to discuss the issues their newsrooms are facing and how they can be better.
The Daily Aztec is incredibly thankful for your support. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Bella Ross at [email redacted].
