Who is Siargao Dragons

We believe that the Siargao Dragons rowing team is the representation of modern and vibrant Siargao Island. Our team is composed of dedicated locals and residents from all around the world who have fallen in love with the island and chose Siargao and its community to become our home and family.

Our goal is to inspire and bring pride to our people with our commitment and passion for the Dragonboat sport. We believe that our training discipline and teamwork will add to the positive, healthy, and energetic culture of the island and future generations. We have been actively recruiting the youths of Sta Fe and Sta Cruz, we are excited to reach further Barangays in the next coming months.

Siargao Dragons made its debut in this year’s 1st International Race in Dapa, Siargao Surigao Del Norte on July 2023. Amongst the 28 International Teams, despite a lack of resources and last-minute preparations, (less than 3 weeks of training), we bagged awards and the hearts of the viewers and other participants.

During this international event, Siargao Dragons took home the following awards:

3rd place Open small boat

3rd place Mixed Standard boat

5th place in Women's small boat

5th place Overall

Due to our outstanding performance, we have been invited to participate in the Cagayan de Oro International Race to represent the talent of Siargao Island. This prestigious event will take place on August 18-20 and will feature teams from all around the world. It is a unique opportunity for our team to showcase our talent and represent our beautiful island.

However, we are in need of financial support to cover essential expenses such as paddles, uniforms, registration fees, transportation, and food allowance during the 3-day stint competition. Despite the challenges that our teammates face while managing work and family responsibilities, these dedicated athletes have been training tirelessly for the past few months, investing their time, energy, and resources to prepare for this competition.

PHP30,000 Registration Fee

PHP105,000 Transportation for 30 paddlers

PHP75,000 for 30 paddles (2,500 each)

We believe that supporting local talent and promoting sports in our community does not only positively impact the athletes but also the future of Siargao Island.
