Help send Steven to college!

A group of 12 Virginia Tech students travelled to Rilima, Rwanda for 2 weeks for cultural exchange and community development.

While in Rilima, the 12 students taught computer skills to young adults at Fondazione Marcegaglia Onlus (FMO), a non-profit. The FMO students were divided into 4 classes, and 1 of these 4 classes was an advanced class. While teaching in the advanced class, the VT students noticed one student who particularly stood out.

Meet Steven: Steven is 28 years old studying construction at FMO. He is incredibly bright and at the top of his advanced computer skills class. Steven is hard working, motivated, and smart. One of the assignments the Virginia Tech students gave was to write a professional email to practice typing. Steven wrote his email in English, about wanting to attend college.

This is where we ask for your help. We believe Steven deserves a chance to attend to college, he has been accepted to the University of Rwanda to study Civil Engineering but, as of now he cannot afford to go. His 4 year education will cost $3,200USD and we are hoping to raise $5,000USD to pay for his education and accommodation during his time there.

Attending college would set Steven apart and enable him to move to Kigali and find a better job. We appreciate any donation to help Steven achieve his dreams!
