Help Ser Medieval Build a Community in Stars Reach

Donation protected

Hi all and welcome! My name is Ser Medieval and welcome to my Go Fund Me for Stars Reach. Please watch the video above for more information.

About a week ago people started bringing this game to my attention during my livestreams and caught my interest immediately at the mention of the lead dev for Ultima Online and
Creative Director for Star Wars Galaxies being the creator of this game. These were two games I really wished I had the opportunity to play in their primes as a kid. I was lucky enough
to be able to enjoy Runescape (character names were DFrostZ, Courtyard20 (I think) and Il Pwn Ur As - don't judge) as a kid and several very unique titles afterward like World of Warcraft
Vanilla, GunZ The Duel, Rumble Fighter, Age of Wushu, and so many others across game portal sites like IJJI, GPotato, Aeria Games, etc...

Stars Reach seems to be an opportunity for me to get a slice of that experience back but more importantly, be able to hopefully share it as one of the first experiences my little one encounters. There's no secret the MMO/MMORPG genre has been in an extremely poor state for the past decade+, but I've never lost hope that one day we might be able to start
getting title releases again that remind me of how things used to feel.

The Pledge Package -

With this fundraiser, I'd like to aim for the $5000 kickstarter pledge package to be able to create a community in this game and claim a planet at the start of launch. If we're not able to get to this tier that's totally fine! As close as we can get would be amazing. If we're somehow able to surpass it and work our way towards the 10k package, that would be legendary.

If you're interested in donating towards this goal, please ensure to include your Discord Name, Twitter Handle, Instagram, anything that I can use to contact you if you end up being one of the higher tier backers to properly split the package rewards with you, or to be able to contact you about any news regarding the planet or package (unless you don't wish to be notified).

The Planet/Community - PVE/Trade Hub Based | Calypso

As mentioned in the video, I would love for the starting planet to be a PVE Based/Trade Hub center that our community can utilize as a home base. Any other planets gained after that can be made into PVP or PVE based on the community desire/vote. As we gain members throughout the kickstarter phase and potential members that also have kickstarter packages, we can further boost our resources with the goal of becoming a power house in the galaxies.

I'll keep all of you updated as I begin to upgrade through the pledges and I can't thank you enough for your support!

Additional Details About Stars Reach -

Chart the Uncharted - The Galaxy is Yours to Shape

Welcome to Stars Reach, a sandbox science-fantasy MMORPG – and the most alive gameworld ever made.
Whether it’s water turning dirt to mud or forests growing back after a devastating fire, every action leaves a mark. This isn’t a static world built by developers - it’s a living, breathing galaxy shaped by you. Resculpt landscapes, build entire cities, and yeah, ruin more planets just like humanity ruined their original eight homeworlds. That’s okay – there are always more worlds in our endless galaxy.

Explore alien worlds full of strange creatures – and fight them for their habitat. Dodge explosive laser attacks and the pits of lava they create. Want to mine asteroid belts for rare minerals? Build outposts and run a trade empire? Maybe you’d rather terraform a planet, craft powerful tech, or map the stars. You can. The galaxy is vast, and it’s yours to explore, settle, and shape.
We’re already deep in development, with players actively testing and exploring the game right now. This Kickstarter isn't about starting a game - it’s about finishing it, expanding it, and bringing this living galaxy to its full potential.

We’re making Stars Reach for the players, with the players. Back us on Kickstarter and help us build the most alive, most dynamic MMO world ever made.
The Universe is waiting.

Explore A Living, Breathing Galaxy
Every planet in Stars Reach is alive. Lakes freeze in the winter. Forests grow, burn, and regrow. Rivers carve out new paths over time. The land doesn’t reset or magically heal. Every action leaves a permanent mark. Dig deep enough, and you might uncover an ancient cavern. Abandon a town, and nature will reclaim it.

With thousands of procedurally generated planets to explore, each with its own unique climate, gravity, and ecosystem, no two worlds are ever the same. Old wormholes collapse, new ones form, new planets are discovered, and the galaxy constantly evolves, reacting to players, time, and the forces of nature.

Master Unique Skills and Professions
Stars Reach doesn’t force you into a rigid class system. Instead, players develop their own playstyles through skill-based progression. Whether you want to be a ranger, miner, xenobiologist, weaponsmith, or pilot, you can master the tools of your trade and carve out your own path in the galaxy.

Professions include:
Combat Specialists – Fight alien threats, defend settlements, or engage in interstellar conflict.
Explorers & Rangers – Chart uncharted worlds, track creatures, and survive the unknown.
Miners & Engineers – Extract rare resources and build planetary infrastructure.
Botanists & Xenobiologists – Grow alien flora and study lifeforms, even resurrecting extinct species.
Merchants & Traders – Build supply chains, manage economies, and turn resources into wealth.
Crafters & Artisans – Forge weapons, starships, and create truly unique, player-made goods.
Leaders & Politicians – lead and coordinate groups, and govern guilds, cities, and planets.
Entertainers and Journalists – roleplay, help people recover their mental focus, and document the adventures the galaxy provides.
Every skill and profession is fully integrated into the game’s player-driven economy, meaning that every profession has real value to the world.

Dynamic, Action-Oriented Combat
Combat in Stars Reach isn’t about standing still and cycling abilities. It’s a fast-paced, action-driven system where movement, timing, and physics all play a role.
Enemies react dynamically. Some flee when outmatched, others call for reinforcements.
Environmental destruction matters. Blow a crater in the ground, and it stays there.
Weapons are diverse, ranging from precision sniper rifles to devastating sci-fi melee weapons.
Enemies aren’t just random NPCs. They’re part of the ecosystem. Destroy their habitats, and they’ll either fight back or disappear forever.

Shape the Universe Around You
This isn’t just another MMO where worlds stay frozen in time. You can dig, build, burn, terraform, and reshape entire planets. Raise cities from the ground, carve tunnels through mountains, or unleash destruction that will be remembered for generations.
The choices you make don’t disappear. Terraforming efforts can make a planet thrive, but reckless destruction could leave it barren. Stars Reach is a game where actions have real, lasting consequences.

A Player-Driven Economy
In Stars Reach, every item is crafted, traded, or discovered by players. There are no loot boxes or random drops. If you want the best gear, you’ll either need to craft it yourself or trade for it.
Weapons, ships, and tools break over time and must be repaired or replaced.
Players can set up missions for others, hiring explorers, mercenaries, or traders.
Planets have unique resources and trade networks, meaning different settlements will specialize in different industries.
Smugglers can evade Servitor patrols to transport illegal goods.
The galaxy is yours to build, trade, and shape.

Seasons, Weather, and Environmental Realism
Planets aren’t just static landscapes. Seasons change. Weather shifts. In the cold, rivers freeze over, forming natural highways for skaters and travelers. In droughts, deserts spread, forcing creatures to migrate or die.
Some worlds experience intense gravity, making movement slow and deliberate.
Others are low-gravity wastelands, where jumps send you floating for miles.
Acid rain, sandstorms, and blizzards aren’t just cosmetic. They impact survival, travel, and combat.
If you settle on a planet, be ready to adapt or be forced to move when the next storm comes.

Freeform Player-Built Settlements
Whether you want to construct a sprawling city, set up a hidden bunker, or establish a trade hub, the game lets you claim land and build without artificial restrictions.

No pre-defined city plots. You decide where settlements rise.
Customize buildings, interiors, and even planetary infrastructure.
Govern planets as a player-elected leader, setting taxes, laws, and policies.
Planets even have health bars, meaning their ecosystems can thrive, collapse, or be stripped bare depending on how players manage them.

Space Travel, Starships, and Beyond
The adventure doesn’t stop at the ground level. Space is vast, alive, and dangerous.
Pilot your own ship or join a crew and explore asteroid fields, derelict stations, and unknown worlds.
Engage in space combat, from pirate skirmishes to massive fleet battles.
Discover new wormholes and star systems that expand the map dynamically.
The map is never static. New systems emerge, old routes collapse, and the galaxy constantly evolves.

Creatures, Companions, and Bioengineering
Not every player wants to fight or trade. Some might prefer to tame, train, and genetically engineer creatures.
Capture and train alien creatures to serve as mounts, pets, or combat allies.
Modify genetics to breed new species, restore extinct lifeforms, or create entirely new hybrids.
Some species adapt to planetary changes, while others go extinct if not protected.
Your actions decide which species thrive and which vanish forever.

No Endgame. No Limits.
There’s no singular endgame in Stars Reach. Instead, players are always growing, always shaping the world, and always finding new challenges.
Govern entire planets and manage player-run civilizations.
Compete in interstellar trade wars, politics, or even outright conflict.
Explore the edges of the known universe, where new systems appear over time.
Some will build. Some will destroy. Some will just find a quiet corner of the galaxy to call home.

Long ago, a mighty alien civilization we call the Old Ones terraformed the galaxy into a vast, cosmic Garden. They carved wormhole highways across space like roads, exterminated civilizations and reshaped planets to suit their needs, and built marvels that still bend reality to this day. Then, without warning, they vanished, leaving behind only ruins and technology that might as well be magic. We don’t even know what they looked like. All that remains are their terrifying robotic creations and genetic experiments… and us.
Now humanity has left our homeworlds for the stars, and we stand at a crossroads in a galaxy full of second chances, forgotten threats, and ancient mysteries.
Wherever the Old Ones have gone, their legacy lingers, and so does the question:
What will we become in the cosmic playground they left behind?

Right now we’re in a pre-alpha testing phase, in which we’re periodically adding folks from our community. With our eternal gratitude, Kickstarter backers of the Reacher tier ($30) and above will be at the head of the line for the remainder of our closed testing phase. During the testing phase, the servers will not be open 24/7, and wipes will be frequent, but players will have daily access to the dev team as we add features and make changes based on player feedback.

Once we are ready, we plan on releasing to Early Access first, which will require a paid supporter pack. The great news is that supporters of our Kickstarter at the Reacher tier and above will also get admission to Early Access included, plus the additional Kickstarter-only benefits as described in the Rewards section!

After we’ve had plenty of time to iterate with our Early Access audience, we’ll be going to full Launch at which point the game will be Free to Play. We’ll do a few days of Head Start to ensure a solid and stable launch, which is typical for MMOs, and as is typical, this Head Start period will cost a bit of money.

From that point forward, our plan is that ongoing development will be supported by:
Optional Supporter Packs – Every few months, we plan on releasing supporter packs that people can choose to purchase to help support Stars Reach. These won’t be a requirement. We think of these as an entirely optional way to kick in support for the game and team and get some cool rewards in return.
Property Passes - Building homesteads is an important part of Stars Reach. To start a Homestead or to be a long-term landowner in general will require a Property Pass. These passes also include getting a first look at new Shop items, awards of unique items, event passes, and more. Kickstarter supporters at the $30 tier or higher will have this ability through all of testing and early access. After launch we expect this will be a monthly paid pass.
MTX store - We do plan on having store support post-launch once we are free-to-play. We’re going to be very intentionally avoiding anything that could be perceived as pay-to-win! We think of this as another optional way for people who feel like it, to toss in some support, either on top of or separate from the Supporter Packs. People have different preferences, and we want to be able to support them.
Social Currency - We plan on having a social currency that rewards people for being regular players. We get that microtransactions and passes may not be for everyone (but really are important to keeping the lights on). So this is a way to reward people who play loyally, letting them earn a special currency for shop purchases.

For all the rewards that include access to the game, we will be able to let you in once Kickstarter gives us a final list of backers, which won’t be until the campaign concludes. However, you can sign up on starsreach.com and get into a testing cohort very quickly.
In the below, all the cosmetic rewards will be account entitlements. If the object they are attached to breaks or is lost, you can apply the skin to a new object.
Most of the rewards below include mention of the Property Pass. Once the game launches officially, it will be free-to-play, but you will not be able to claim land ownership without a Property Pass, which is purchased by the month. This does not mean that free-to-play players can’t build!
We plan a loyalty currency, given to players who play regularly. You will be able to obtain the Property Pass that way too, not only by paying us.
Free players can also be given permissions to build on other people's plots. This permission system is already in the game now.
Lastly, Property Passes (in an unused state) are giftable and tradeable!
Some of the highest tiers above mention the ability to claim a planet. Please see the FAQ on what this implies.
