Please support Serena as she continues to recover at home after surviving a ruptured brain aneurysm. If you know Serena, one of us, or once our parents (Tony and Claudia Scherrey) we ask for your help!
Any amount big or small would be greatly appreciated for our sister ❤️ and if you can’t afford to donate, we gladly ask for your continued prayers for a full recovery

Her Story:
On June 10, 2023 our sister Serena was emergency transported from Mercy Hospital ER (Ft.Smith, AR) to CHI St. Vincent ( Sherwood, AR) for a ruptured brain aneurysm. She had brain surgery (clipping surgery) early Sunday morning June 11. With the grace of God and with an amazing amount of prayers from all her family and friends, she survived.
Only 50% of people with ruptured brain aneurysm make it to the hospital, and only 50% of those survive surgery. She was blessed to survive both. ❤️
Within a week after the clipping surgery the next goal was to remove the external EVD drain from her brain that was regulating the excess fluid and pressure in her skull. Unfortunately, after several attempts her brain was too damaged from the ruptured aneurysm to regulate the fluid (and pressure) in her skull so she had another brain surgery (June 20) to insert a permanent VP shunt into her brain. Once again, she was blessed to survive and the shunt seemed to be working as needed.
After the VP shunt surgery, her next goal was to resume working towards recovery and discharge. Unfortunately, within 24 hours of the VP Shunt surgery, her brain went into cerebral vasospasm and an emergency cerebral angiogram was performed (June21) to dilate the vessels in her brain. This was a big setback in her hospital recovery. After another 5-6 days in ICU, she finally began to turn the corner and improve enough to be discharged from the hospital.
We are grateful she has survived this situation and with the prayers and support of so much family and friends she is now home beginning her road to recovery.❤️❤️❤️

She is a single income, mother of 3, that will not be able to work for 8-10 weeks until her brain fully recovers and her mental stamina returns. Although she technically has “insurance” the medical bills are already overwhelming (21 days in ICU, 2 brain surgeries, 1 cerebral angiogram procedure, ~23 CT scans, several MRIs etc…) and already beginning to come in. Our fundraising goal amount is to cover her OOP portion of the bills that will be owed and help her over the next several months during her recovery at home ❤️

Thank you!
