Serenity's Kidney Fund

Serenity is a sweet and beautiful 8 year old girl that needs a new kidney.
Serenity life has changed and so has her family. On November 2020, Serenity was rushed to Riley Children’s Hospital due to trouble breathing and coughing up blood. When we got to the ER, doctors stated that Serenity has COVID-19 and that her kidneys was failing and her lungs were collapsing. I was so confused because everything had changed in a short period of time. Serenity was diagnosed with ANCA Vasculitis. ANCA is an autoimmune disease affecting small blood vessels in the body. It is caused by autoantibodies called ANCAs, or Anti-Neutrophilic Cytoplasmic Autoantibodies. ANCAs target and attack a certain kind of white blood cells called neutrophils. This disease attacked her kidneys and lungs.
She was hospitalized for almost a month in a half. Serenity lungs has improved but unfortunately she needs a new kidney. She has to do dialysis three times a week. She has over ten medications that she has to take now. She also, has a diet restriction which she only can eat foods that has low/no sodium and low/no potassium. So, everyday I try to make foods that are made from scratch rather than buying foods that is high in sodium and potassium. Her foods are very expensive and so are her medications.
This has been very hard for Serenity and her family. Due to being there everyday for Serenity as her mom, I gave up everything. I gave up my home because I could not work, or afford the rent/bills. Also, I did not feel comfortable living at home if Serenity was not there; my home felt very incomplete without her. This situation has made me feel overwhelmed and depressed but still grateful that I still have her. Now, I have to start over again and see how I would be able to get a home for me and my children again. Also, I am still trying to figure out how would I be able to work, and take her to doctors appointments, dialysis, virtual school learning and other things. Everything has changed but we still had faith that everything will be okay and we will make it through the storm.
I want Serenity to have a normal life again and feel like a kid again. She can not go swimming because she has a PIC line (surgery) line in her chest. If she gets a new kidney then she will at least get a chance to swim again, play, and do certain activities again that she likes.
If you can donate anything to help Serenity and her family through this hard time we would gladly appreciate it.
