Help Sergey & Family relocate from Ukraine

Donation protected
Like many people, we have watched in horror as the situation in Ukraine has gone from bad to worse. Meet Sergey, his wife Yullia and two beautiful boys ages 3 and 11. They lived a peaceful life in Dnipro or Dnieper. This city is on the front lines on 3 sides. It was no longer safe for them to stay. Sadly, like so many others, they packed two suitcases with two kids in tow and left everything behind. A home, pictures, memories, and family. Not sure how, when or where they would find safety.
There is much of their story to tell. They are still on their journey to find a safe place to just sleep. They have crossed 3-4 countries being very strategic, so they would be allowed to cross borders to seek a path to find refuge quietly. Please remember they continue to go forward everyday, not knowing their final destination. Can you imagine that as a parent or spouse? And knowing you have limited resources, and not everyone is understanding or even welcoming. Many refugees are seen as a burden to the people of the countries they seek safe harbor.

Fast forward, they make it to Tijuana, Mexico. Wow, that’s some mileage but they are to be held in a refugee camp until they can prove they have an address willing to accept or host them. With family left in Ukraine, they are at strangers' mercy, kindness, and compassion.

Proud to say Tony and Roaya Tyson (my friends) and my place of employment, Gracepoint Wellness are teaming up and have offered Sergey & his family a safe place to begin to heal from their trauma and perhaps a new life. With this fantastic news, they continue on their journey to enter the United States with a Humanitarian Visa.

They crossed the US border on the west coast last evening at 2 am and plan to take the next flight out to Tampa, Florida. We cannot begin to imagine the pain and terror they have endured. And to think they still have so many unknowns ahead.

THIS IS OUR TIME TO HELP. Don’t let history tell a story that the world abandoned families in need.

Any donation will help them get back on their feet and regain some sense of control over their lives. $20 helps, $100 helps. Your prayers help. I believe together we can do this. Our goal is to help them get into an apartment, get furnishings, clothing and English lessons. Whatever they need to stabilize their family and have an opportunity to start over.

I will be providing regular updates. Thank you! You can also reach me at [email redacted] or on my cell at [phone redacted]. Want to learn more about Gracepoint? www.gracepointwellness.org

If you want to help the million-plus Ukrainians feeling to safety, please donate to IRC or volunteer in any way you can.
