Help Dena Get Back on Her Feet!

Hi Community, as some of you know, our dear friend Dena was in a very serious motorbike accident this week in Indonesia, far from most of the people who care for her, and is currently battling severe injuries and encountering other issues related to the accident and necessary surgery.

***The hospital is currently refusing treatment without upfront payment, as is their stance with foreigners in Indonesia.***

We are reaching out to the community for support to help someone who has given so much to so many, receive the medical care she desperately needs while alone and scared, very far away from most of us.

The Story:

Dena was driving her scooter after the gym this week, on her way to meet new friends at the beach for sunset, when an unexpected and devastating accident occurred. In broad daylight, a car rolled through an intersection, striking Dena at full speed. The impact caused Dena to fly in the air and land directly on her head, shattering her wrist into 14 pieces, causing a concussion, and resulting in numerous stitches, broken bones and other injuries. Without her helmet, this accident would have been fatal.

Dena is currently alone in a hospital in Bali, where she is in stable condition but faces a challenging road to recovery. Unfortunately, the hospital is refusing to provide further care without full upfront payment, which is estimated to be over $20,000 USD. At this moment, they are refusing her medication until she can dole out more money. This is sadly the standard stance towards foreigners needing medical care in Indonesia, usually inflating it to 500% of the local cost.
