Help Severyn (a Ukrainian Baby) and his Family
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lena, and I am raising money for my family displaced by the war in Ukraine. On March 4th, my aunt Tanya, cousin Olya, and her 4-month-old son Severyn fled Ukraine. Olya said goodbye to her husband Pasha and boarded a bus with her infant son and mom to Poland, a journey that would take 20 hours.
Olya & Severyn in Kyiv, Ukraine
My family purchased airline tickets for our relatives so they could stay with us in San Jose, California, during this incredibly difficult time. Tanya, Olya and Severyn boarded their flight from Katowice, Poland, to Frankfurt, Germany, with their final destination set for San Francisco.
Unfortunately, when they arrived in Frankfurt, Severyn was denied boarding because he did not have the proper documentation to enter the U.S. While Tanya and Olya have a passport and a visitor visa, 4-month old Severyn does not. The problem is Ukrainian passports are only issued in Kyiv, Ukraine, and the passport office is not operating. So now they are stuck in a foreign country, with no resolution in sight.
100% of the funds raised will cover costs associated with their precarious living situation (staying in hotels and Airbnb's), day-to-day living expenses, baby care, and getting them back on their feet.
