Helping Sergeant Danny Osborne & Family

We are saddened to say that Danny passed away on Saturday, September 7th. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

Sergeant Danny Osborne has served the Citizens of Gaston County and the Gaston County Police Department for over 25 years. This year, Danny has unfortunately faced various medical concerns resulting in his inability to work. Danny has been diagnosed with multiple health conditions; the most serious battle currently faced is the diagnosis of Adrenal Cancer. This battle has ultimately made it impossible for Danny to return to work, forcing an early medical retirement from a career he loves and has been extremely dedicated to.

Sergeant Osborne has always been an integral part of the Gaston County Police Department, serving as a patrol officer since 1999, a loyal Emergency Response Team Member (SWAT) since 2002, and a leader within the department as a Sergeant.

With this GoFundMe, his coworkers aim to help Danny,his wife, Sara, and their children with his transition to an unexpected early retirement, his battle with cancer, and all the unknown with appointments, travel, and hospital visits/stays. Danny’s positive spirit is contagious. He is a valued member of the family who we wish to stand beside & support throughout this journey.

A Message from Sara-

As a DI college wrestler, Danny was a fierce competitor and would face his opponents with calculated techniques - always striving for excellence. He has applied this same determination and will to succeed as a Gaston County Police Officer and SWAT Team member.

Danny is now facing a new opponent that will require all of his competitive drive and grit. After a few months of doctor visits, scans, & specialists, Danny has been diagnosed with Cushing’s disease and adrenal cancer. We’re being super aggressive with treatment - taking oral chemo pills as well as receiving IV chemotherapy. Danny is in good spirits and taking everything in stride.
