Help Shad go to the World Glider Championships

Hello, my name is Robin Simmons, and I created this GoFundMe page to help my friends Shad Coulson and his family and Jason Stephens make it to the World Advanced Glider Aerobatic Championships in Issoudin, France, on August 11, 2022. Shad and Jason qualified for the U.S. National Glider Aerobatics Team and have an opportunity to represent the USA at the World Championships. Going to Worlds and representing the USA is a dream come true for Shad and an opportunity of a lifetime.

In my quest to learn glider aerobatics, I know how difficult it is to get to the level of my friend Shad. Shad will face many obstacles just getting to France and being ready to compete with other great pilots. Jason is more seasoned than Shad but he will also face many challenges just getting to France and being ready. I have created this GoFundMe page to contribute to their success on the world stage.

Shad's biggest supporter is his wife, Michelle. He has also increased his fan club with the addition of his appropriately named 4-month-old son, Maverick. Behind every great achievement is a support network, and Michelle is the lynchpin of his support network. She is in charge of logistics and will play an integral role for Shad during the competition.

Competition costs will make up about 50% of his total expenses. The rental cost for the glider is $3,500 for the duration of the competition. Registration fees, travel, and room & board will make up the rest. Funds raised here will be used to offset those expenses.

We are living in uncertain times, and a glider competition may not seem very important in the scheme of things, but these moments are what can change a life and, in all the chaos, are worth pursuing.
