Urgent help needed for Shadow to start treatment

Hi! My name is Shadow, and I am currently 8 years old. I live with my owner and 2 kids (they are my best friends) and my brother Luna. You can see us trying to eat a cookie. Both of us have always been big boys my owner says were not big were just happy. I prefer to drink my water from the bathtub spout and I am very vocal if the water isn't on. I started losing weight about a month ago, but my appetite is better than ever lately. Normally, I don't go on counters or stoves, but lately, I just can't help it. I am always hungry. My owner knew something wasn't right with me, so off to the vet we went. The vet says my heart and lungs are good which is so great to hear but I am down to 12 1/2 lbs which is normal weight for a cat my age but then again I was just a happy big lovable cat. I received blood work and lots of treats since I was so well behaved but then the results came in and I found out I am a diabetic cat now. The vet says I can still live a normal, long life with a strict diet and insulin shots twice a day . I will also have to get my glucose tested every two weeks . I know I am not ready to leave my family and they are not ready for me to leave.

Hi my name is Linsey and I am shadows owner. I wanted to write his story as if he was telling it to try to lighten the mood and to ease the pain for me to ask for donations. Unfortunately due to my own personal medical conditions and being a solo parent to two teenage boys I am in need of help to keep my fur baby healthy

The donations will help with the cost of the insulin which he needs twice a day and the needles to administer it. He will also be on a prescription special diet food. It will also help with the vet visits to keep track of Shadows glucose. As of now they want to see him every two weeks. I hope I can share Shadows journey updates and progress with everyone and one day say shadow is healthy and insulin free .
