Help Shamar get out an Unsafe living envrioment !
Hey !
My Name is Shamar ! I recently have had some situations at my current living situation that have made it unsafe to continue living here
in the month of April I had to open my door with a knife to transphobic and homophobic statements. FRom the rear occupant .
May 19th My neighbors escalated to a violent situation and tried to put me in the middle of it. I have tried to be avoidant. But unfortunately my safety is more important.
May 22 my SECOND neighbor rang and knocked on my door from the hours of 12 am to 4:30 am asking me to open my door and knocking on my windows..
Upon speaking to the rental company, the NYS law does not allow evictions until 8/30/21 which means that nothing can be done about the constant harassment by my neighbors .. besides me moving out.
As a black trans man; I dont feel safe calling the police on other marginalized people to escalate situations. I have applied to a few vacant properties, but May need to provide more or upgrade my space... this go fund me is to help with last minute moving expenses. the goal is to be moved by 7/1/21
The funds will go to :
- Application fees
- Security deposits
- Moving fees
- New items needed for new house
- Movers.
- Bills that need to be switch and additional fees with quickly uprooting yourself to stay safe.

UPDATE :
As of 11/3. I am covid positive and having to lose income. I now have to use some of it moving funds to make sure I make it thru my positive covid status!
