On Monday, June 26th, Shanda Burke tragically lost her beautiful daughter Becky, and grandson Tavin, in a horrific car accident near Alamosa, Colorado. Becky and Tavin were so excited as they traveled with her fiance and two daughters to spend vacation with Shanda and her family.

Becky was Shanda’s shining light, a survivor who had overcome an unthinkable life event and subsequent health challenges…Becky had grit and beauty. Tavin, full of life, a wonderful brother, son and grandson. Miraculously, Becky’s fiancé and her two daughters, lived through the devastating crash.

Kit, Shannon and I are nurses and friends who work with Shanda and we are asking for help so that Shanda can pay for the costs associated with this heartbreaking loss. Shanda needs to travel back to Arizona to bury her daughter, and support her grandchildren as they mourn the loss of their mom. We want Shanda to be able to focus on her family and self in the same way that she has dedicated so much of herself in taking care of her patients.
