Help Shandell Brunson's Daughters

Shandell Brunson suddenly and tragically passed away on January 25, 2022. She was a fantastic person, mother, friend, and colleague, who will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and co-workers. As a sea turtle scientist with NOAA Fisheries at the Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC) in Honolulu, Hawaii, Shandell positively impacted the lives of many turtles and people throughout the region. Shandell, originally from Idaho, started working with turtles as a University of Hawaii undergraduate volunteer at PIFSC, and persevered along this career path for over 20 years to her role as sea turtle stranding coordinator for Hawaii and the Pacific Islands region. She will always be remembered for her warm spirit, kind demeanor, and shining smile. Shandell leaves behind 2 young daughters, Arianna and Mireya. Please contribute to this fund to help Shandell's daughters cope with this tremendous loss. Donations will go directly to purchasing food, airline flights to move from Hawaii to live with family in North Carolina, shipping costs for belongings, and help offset funeral costs.
