Help Shane Rebuild After Eaton Fire Devastation
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
My name is Sierra. As many of you know, our beloved friend Shane, an Altadena resident with deep roots in the area, has been deeply impacted by the devastating Eaton Fire. This fire has torn through this neighborhood, destroying countless homes and even burning down the elementary school Shane attended as a child. It has been a tragic and heartbreaking experience for him, and he needs our help now more than ever.
Shane is a small business owner, a generous volunteer, and a proud member of the Altadena community. He has always gone above and beyond to help others—whether it’s helping raise his nephew, hosting neighborhood events, mentoring those in need, or simply offering a helping hand to his friends. He has always been the first to lend support, never asking for anything in return.
But now, Shane and his animals are in desperate need of support from the community he’s spent so many years giving to.
As the Eaton Fire rages on, Shane has been forced to evacuate and find shelter in his van due to the smoke damage and hazardous air quality that has made his home uninhabitable.
Shane’s passion for animals led him to build his business, Pups and Punkz, from the ground up. A dog walking and pet sitting company, his business has come to a complete halt, as all of his clients are also facing the consequences of this disaster.
To make matters worse, Shane had just begun the process of converting a van into a habitable living space for himself and his animals to eventually move into. It was a project he had been working toward for months, using his business earnings to fund the purchase and conversion. But now, the urgency is far greater than he could have anticipated.
Shane and his animals have no choice but to live in the van for now, and the harsh reality is that the van is not yet ready to serve as a safe and sustainable home. Shane was planning on spending the next several months converting the van, but due to the fire, this timeline has become critical. The van needs insulation, temperature control, and basic livability improvements immediately.
Without income from his business, Shane has no means to fund this work, and the longer they remain in an unsafe environment, the harder it will be for him and his animals to stay healthy and safe.
Your donations will go directly toward converting Shane’s van into a safe and comfortable space for him and his pets. Specifically, your contributions will help cover:
Insulation and temperature control to protect Shane and his animals from extreme weather conditions.
Basic living necessities, such as sleeping arrangements, food, and pet supplies.
Emergency repairs and improvements to make the van a livable space immediately.
Living expenses to cover costs while Shane works to rebuild his life and business.
Shane would never ask for help himself, but I know how much he’s given to others, and now it’s our turn to support him during this incredibly difficult time.
Shane is not just a business owner—he’s a friend, a mentor, and an advocate for the underdog. He’s been a steadfast supporter of his community, and now he needs our support in return. Your generosity will not only provide him with the means to survive this crisis, but it will also help him get back on his feet and continue to contribute to our community once the immediate danger has passed.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. Please consider donating, sharing this page, or simply sending your thoughts and prayers to Shane and his animals. Together, we can help him create a safe space for himself and his pets while he rebuilds his life.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity during this difficult time.
With gratitude,
Sierra
