Help Shane Yates fight Liposarcoma!

A message from Charity Yates:
We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has donated! It is so appreciated! We are just getting home from a 3 1/2 week stay in Houston. Shane received 15 radiation treatments and inpatient chemotherapy during this time. He was also hospitalized for neutropenic fever and radiation-induced enteritis on the day we were set to come home. Once he is recovered, he will resume chemo treatments back in Georgia. We will continue to travel to Houston and MDA every 6 weeks for scans. His largest tumor is 11x9.5x9cm and is pressing on his left kidney/ureter. We ask for prayer for all tumors to shrink, but especially for this one ASAP. We thank you so much again and hope the Lord will bless you for your kindness and generosity.
Shane Yates (husband of Charity Cook Yates) was diagnosed in January of 2016 with dedifferentiated liposarcoma of the left groin. In March of 2016, he had a radical resection of a 9.5cm mass with arterial & venous grafts. He was then given 6 weeks of radiation to the affected area. For 2 years, he was in remission. July of 2018 he underwent resection of his first recurrence that was adhered to his abdominal wall. In March of 2020, more tumors appeared in his abdomen. So in August 2020, he started Adriamycin/Dacarbazine which worked beautifully. In January of 2021, he had 4 tumors removed from his abdomen with a promising report for good prognosis in the future. Two months later, he had another recurrence. This tumor was able to be cryoablated and eradicated. Then 4 months later, he has 6 new tumors in his abdomen. Since August of 2020, Shane has been on one chemotherapy agent after another. Through all of this fight to beat cancer, Shane has been hospitalized multiple times for neutropenic fever and sepsis. He and his wife Charity have traveled back and forth from Georgia to Texas every 6-8 weeks to receive cancer care at MD Anderson since his cancer is so aggressive and so rare. They are presently in Houston, Texas receiving radiation for his largest tumor that is 11x7cm and causing complications to his left kidney, ureter, and bowel. This past week he started Radiation on the large tumor. The plan is 15 treatments total to be given concurrently with Tribectedin chemotherapy which he started this week also. They have a very positive attitude, strong faith, and determined spirit. They are a team fighting as best they can. We trust the medical team to direct us and we pray to God for a miracle daily.
This family has gone through and overcome the unimaginable the past almost 7 years. With all of these years of treatment and travel, a large financial burden has followed. If you feel led, any donation is extremely appreciated. As they continue this tedious journey, please keep Shane and his wife, children, and other family in your thoughts and prayers.
