Help Shanice drive!

This is Shanice Martin a 5- foot-tall, 96-pound dynamo. A 17-year-old that just passed her driving permit test. This young lady was affected by Transverse Myelitis when she was only 4 months old. She was listed in the hospital as a failure to thrive. But she defied the odds and lived. She was left as a quadriplegic. She was taken into the Foster Care System and remained in that system after multiple failed reunification attempts with her family until she was adopted at 5 years old. Her adoptive single Mom was 55 years old at the time and is now 67 and on a fixed income. Through determination, physical therapy, and medical interventions Shanice has regained some use of her legs, feet, arms, and hands. She can now walk with arm crutches. Longer outings require a wheelchair. Shanice has a dream to become independent and drive a car and start her own business. Any car that Shanice will be able to drive will need to be modified with specific controls and installed professionally on a newer vehicle to pass regulations. Because of her disability the costs of the driver evaluation, Occupational Therapy Driving Lessons on Specialize Equipment, the car, and vehicle modifications are all extraordinary costs for this family. Even though Shanice has worked hard to regain her mobility and pass her permit test, this dream of driving a car is one that her mom is unable to provide for on her own. The costs of a newer car and modifications are beyond the family’s reach. Can you help Shanice reach her goal? Any funds received will go towards the evaluation, training, car, insurance, and modification of the car. Thank you for helping.
