Help Sharon Egan Fight Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer

Hi, my name is Sharon and I was just diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer on 1/2/2024.

The only reason I found out that I actually had it was a second trip to the ER after being diagnosed with Pneumonia the first week and catching Covid the following week. My stomach all of a sudden became so distended, I could barely walk. A catscan was done and they found a huge mass along with tumors in my lymph nodes and lungs. I was admitted to the hospital and they drained 6 liters of fluid from my abdomen and almost 2 liters from my back. I was short of breath because it was pressing against my lung. I'm home now recovering from the procedures which has been quite painful and I'm getting through it. My surgeon, Dr. Robinson at the Novant Zimmer Cancer Centerwill be performing a hysterectomy and tumor removal after 3 chemo treatments which will take about 3 months. Then I can have the surgery if the tumors have shrunk. After the surgery I would have 3 more rounds of chemo.

I have a consultation tomorrow and will have a plan of care for the next 9 months along with Chemotherapy.

I appreciate any help that you can give. The chemo treatments are extremely expensive.
