Help Shauna Recover From Car Accident

My name is Shauna and I am a single mother to an awesome fourteen year old son. After having recently relocated from Washington State to Arizona, I was involved in a car accident on Saturday, November 13th.

While on my way to work, I had begun to proceed through a green light when a vehicle running a red light shot through the intersection. I only had a second to react, if that, and I swerved to the left to try and avoid the vehicle, but it was too late. The vehicle struck me on the right which sent me spinning. I'm not entirely sure what happened next but I struck another car and the rest is fairly fuzzy.

While airbags were deployed, both myself and the driver of the other vehicle felt more or less okay. However, after I started to notice pain in my left side. Over night, the initially manageable pain began to worsen. I went to Urgent Care the very next day, Sunday, November 14th in the afternoon, and was immediately transferred by ambulance to Chandler Regional Medical Center. The doctor was concerned about internal bleeding, and after receiving a CT Scan, he discovered a 2 inch laceration on my spleen. Luckily I got there in time, so they were able to admit me and monitor me. I was also transferred to the trauma unit at Chandler Regional. My hemoglobin count has continued to go up, so thankfully no surgery will be necessary. Although I’m currently in the clear, the laceration needs time to properly heal, and I must miss several weeks of work which require lifting and constant motion. My bills consist of two ambulance rides, staying in the hospital for three nights, medications, and a CT Scan.

Any funds donated will go towards my son and his well being as well as my swift and full recovery so I may return to work without risk of reinjury. As I am new to Arizona, my son and I have felt financial strain which recently has begun to lift what with finding work during these difficult times. However the physical toll this accident has brought me on its own will reignite that financial strain. I don't even know how to describe my reaction to the mountain of medical bills looming over my family.
