Help Shawn McGinley Fight Cancer

Hi everyone, my name is Katie and I am fundraising for the amazing and entertaining Shawn McGinley AKA SMB, Shaggy, the nick names could go on forever.  If you were unaware, Shawn was diagnosed with Stage IV Esophageal cancer on May 18th 2021. He had not been feeling well for several months, however numerous trips to the doctor and ER left him with no answers for his pain.  After 3 months of extreme pain in his chest and stomach and loosing 20 pounds because it was so uncomfortable for him to eat or drink, the doctors decided to perform an endoscopy.  While doing the endoscopy the doctors discovered a very large mass on his esophagus, which was causing esophageal blockage making it very difficult for him to swallow or eat.  A biopsy was taken during the endoscopy and a few days later Shawn was given the devastating news that he had cancer.  In addition to the esophageal cancer further CT scans and biopsies revealed the cancer had metastasized to his lungs also.  While his full treatment plan is still being laid out, Shawn begins radiation on June 3rd and will be receiving radiation every weekday for several weeks. 


Due to the pain and the diagnosis Shawn was forced to stop working.  He was a true fighter throughout the months prior to his diagnosis.  He continued to work and help everyone around him with everything they needed while in excruciating pain, he even went to work the night he got diagnosed with cancer.  Anyone that knows Shawn knows the joy he brings to the people around him.  Just as he has given so much of himself to everyone, now he needs help of his own.  I am raising money for Shawn to cover his medical bills, basic living expenses, food, and transportation to his treatments.  Anything and everything will help.  If you are unable to donate, please share this post and send a prayer and good vibes for Shawn as he fights cancer!
