Hello everyone, my name is Shawn Nagle. I've been a sculptor in the toy and collectible industry for the past 30 years. I've been fortunate in my career to have worked for the best companies in the business and build relationships and a portfolio that has enabled me to earn a living as a creative person, pretty much my entire life.
However, the past year and the horrific effects of Covid 19 have crippled my business and my ability to work. I did not qualify for a PPP loan because I have no employees and do all the work myself, nor could I collect unemployment, so I have been struggling to keep my bills paid and be able to support myself and my dog.
Things have been extremely rough and this past week, I was evicted from my home. I could not even get in to get any of my huge reference book library, collectibles, model kits and personal artwork I've built over the past 25 years. Its gone. It's all gone. They've changed the locks and if not for the kindness and love of a special friend, who took me and my dog into her home, I would literally be on the street.
I've always been a person who could tough out the rough times that face any artist who chooses to take the road of a freelance lifestyle, but during this pandemic and those who have been lucky to evade the virus itself, have unfortunately been left in the wake of it, suffering from anxiety, depression and mental illness. I need some funds to keep myself afloat while I find a job and start rebuilding my life.
Anything you can contribute would be sincerely appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Shawn.
