Help Shayna’s family set up a funeral and burial.

COVID-19 has affected different families in so many ways. Shayna’s family would have never expected COVID-19 to affect them in the way that it did.

a 17 year old, a 12 year old, a 6 year old, and a newborn baby lost their amazing and beautiful mom, Shayna, to COVID-19, on September 30th. None of Shayna’s babies would have ever expected to be burying their mommy at such a young age.

Shayna was a darling daughter to her mom, Laura. Laura would have never expected to be burying her own daughter.

Shayna was a young pregnant woman, 7 months pregnant with her 4th child. COVID-19 infected her and her two eldest boys. While her two boys recovered, Shayna was getting more sick daily. Shayna didn’t want to go to the hospital due to her fear of being alone. She knew from her job as a nurse, if she were to go into the hospital, she’d be allowed no visitors due to COVID-19. After a lot of encouragement to go to the hospital, she was taken in.

Anxiety, stress, and the fear of leaving this world and her boys caused her condition to worsen to the point where she was put on a ventilator while sedated.

A day later she had to have an emergency c-section to save her baby. 4 days later, her body couldn’t handle all the punishment from COVID. She had a damaged brain from oxygen loss, kidney damage, and lung damage. This combination put her into cardiac arrest two separate times and caused her to pass away. She never knew she had a baby and didn’t even get to hold her baby boy who is named Shayne after her.

It pains me to say she passed away alone.
