Help Sheri with Lost Wages and Recovery

I am posting this page on behalf of my mother, Sheri Osburne. We are looking for donations for lost wages, home care supplies, and any necessary items specific to Sheri and her condition as the family struggles to survive on one income.

 

The Story:

Sheri went to the hospital for a possible mini-stroke on 12/29/21. On 1/4/22, the stroke team was called in due to noticing Aphasia symptoms in the middle of the night. The conclusion was brought to us on 1/7/22 after many tests; Advanced Vascular Disease – 100% of both Carotid arteries are blocked, 30% of her vertebral artery is blocked, 70% of her Right Femoral artery is blocked. An MRI has found she has plaque in her frontal lobe. She was cleared for surgery Cardiologically - but considered too high a risk to operate on.

 

Her symptoms post-stroke are: Broca’s (Non-fluent) Aphasia, Right arm weakness, foot drop in left foot and weakness in both legs. 

Rehab was called, and just as it was being finalized – rehab became a no-go as well… We were told they wanted her to make more progress on her own before she could come to rehab. The hospital released her to home on 1/20/22 after almost a month in the hospital. Now comes the fight for Disability and Medicaid. The family is pulling together from many different states to get everything done.
