Help Sherman Get Back On The Road!

My name is Melinda Friday, I am one of the handful of people organizing this fundraiser for our friend Sherman. A few years ago, with the help of a generous donor, Sherman purchased a Dodge Ram Promaster from Mike Wadia’s estate. A few weeks ago the transmission gave out and needs to be replaced. Not only is the van needed for the day to day operations of Sherman’s plumbing business, but it is also his only form of transportation.

There is nothing I can say that will accurately describe the magic of Sherman! He has experienced more challenges in his 51 years than anyone I know and yet he is one of the most positive, caring, supportive, and hardworking people I have ever met. Watching Sherman raise his three teenage boys is inspiring. Sherman works so hard and puts so much thoughtfulness into making sure his sons have the physical and mental support they need to thrive.

To know Sherman as a friend is an Honor. I watch Sherman over and over give all he can to his extended family and community. The compassion he extends to the people around him goes beyond what is reasonably expected of any individual and yet it never seems to end. He deserves to get back all the love he puts out into the world and so much more!

We’re asking for financial support to help my friend Sherman get back to work so he can continue to support his children and community. He gives so much and asks for nothing in return. The money raised will go towards replacing the van's transmission estimated at $7k. Any extra will go into an account for any future repairs. By some miracle if we raise enough money to get him into a better work van that would be amazing! Asking for money is hard and we would never do it if this wasn’t so important. The longer he is without reliable transportation the harder it will become to bounce back from this so whether it’s a few dollars or more — every little bit helps!
