Help Sheron Spann Bailey With Liver Transplant
Hello, my name is Sheron Spann Bailey. I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. I am reaching out to you for your help. After several months of low energy, rapid weight loss, loss of appetite, dizziness and fatigue, I was diagnosed with irreversible liver disease. I’ve had several episodes of various complications due to my liver not working properly. This has landed me in the hospital four times since March of 2021. I have spent 23 days in the hospital, one which involved surgery to stop uncontrollable bleeding due to the inability of my liver to help my blood to clot. I have not been able to work since this all started and I am currently having difficulty getting disability benefits from my job. Because of the time that I have to be off, my insurance benefits have been exhausted and soon my job will no longer be protected by FMLA.
The hospital in my home town didn’t offer much hope for my condition. Therefore, I traveled to Ochsner Multi-Organ Transplant Institute, which is several hours from my home and where I have been approved to be on the organ transplant list. This is a lifesaving procedure that I am going to have as soon as an organ becomes available. Although I am grateful to be on the list, this has caused a tremendous financial hardship on me and my family, whom I have totally relied on for physical, emotional and financial assistance. This is just the beginning of this journey. I have medical expenses, travel expenses, and day to day life expenses that are difficult to cover. These expenses will only increase in the future. I am asking for any donations you may be able to afford to help me in this fight. There is no amount too small. Your donations will be used for medical expenses, bills that are currently behind, and expenses incurred while traveling to and from Ochsner Multi-Organ Transplant Institute for appointments and during the hospital stay. After the transplant, I have to reside for several weeks near the transplant center for follow up appointments, so your donation will assist with this as well. I also appreciate your prayers at this time as I continue to do all I can to survive until I receive my transplant.
