Help Sherry Get A New Wheelchair Accessible Van!
Donation protected
Hi my name is Cadence and I'm fundraising on behalf of my friend Sherry. Sherry is a funny, vibrant and incredible woman who lives with Spastic Cerebral Palsy and uses a wheelchair in her day to day life. Her mom, who was her full-time caretaker passed away several years ago leaving Sherry on her own. Since then Sherry has managed to build a team of care-workers who come in to provide care for her. They would also drive her to appointments and outings in her wheelchair accessible van before it broke down.
In January, Sherry's wheelchair accessible van was deemed unsafe to drive and the repairs too costly to perform on a 15 year old vehicle with many existing issues. For the last six months Sherry has been mostly confined to her home and unable to do basic things like grocery shop for her own food. Most importantly though, she has been unable do her favourite thing: attend country music concerts! She is the biggest country music fan I know, and is always supporting her favourite artists- especially Myself, Johnny Reid and Marshall Dane.
Sherry is one of the kindest and funniest people I know. She cares so much about her family and friends and always goes the extra mile to make you smile or laugh. She is always trying to help others and has a special bond with animals.
She has been one of the biggest supporters of the Canadian Country Music Industry for many years and deserves our help to get her back on the road so she can cheer on and support her favourite artists.
Funds will be used to purchase either a regular van and retrofit it, or an existing used or new wheelchair van.
Let's work together to create change for someone who truly deserves it! Anything you can spare would be infinitely helpful.
