Help Sherry Meyer Through This Difficult Time

Many people know Sherry Meyer because she has always worked hard to help others through the difficult and scary process to retire; help employees understand their benefits; conduct seminars to help people prepare mid-career; or just be the friendly face that welcomes new employees.

What you probably do not know is her current struggle and long difficult road ahead. She has been experiencing tremors, weakness, dizziness and extreme exhaustion. Preliminary doctor's thoughts are potentially Parkinsons' or MS. Since February, symptoms have been intensifying and she has been unable to go into work since July. She is currently in the diagnostic waiting pattern - waiting on MRI availability, then a better MRI is needed, waiting for this specialist/that specialist, waiting on a referral to MAYO or other referrals to get approved. Each appointment is more difficult than the last but necessary to find the right diagnosis and hopefully treatment/way forward for her and her family.

She is the sole provider in her house. Her daughter is pregnant and due in November. Sherry has exhausted her leave from work. Caring employees have donated some leave so she will get a normal check for a little bit, and then there is no other income coming in to pay the normal monthly bills, doctor/testing co-pays, etc. while she is getting diagnosed and the unknown path forward.
