Help Shira & Allen finish their Tiny Home!!

Hey Folks! Wondering how the Tiny Home is going? Well, it’s slow progress.
We started this journey in May 2022 when we picked up our trailer in Portland, OR.
We brought our bare home-base back to Cashmere, WA where we studied building codes and created 3D models of our framing. For three months we worked our amateur butts off to get that tiny home framed out and road-ready (with LOTS of help from Allen's dad, Greg).
We made the grueling 3-hour journey across Snoqualmie Pass in September and landed in north Bellingham with our lovely friends and land stewards Suneeta Eisenberg & Michael Toomes. Here the tiny home has resided (with us inside of it!) while we slowly chip away at projects including insulation, building a front porch, awning, kitchen counter and stairs, re-assembling our loft, trimming out windows, adding exterior siding, installing a lovely shiplap pine ceiling (Thanks Cam!), plumbing out two sinks and a shower (Thanks Middy!), and beginning the tiling process for the bathroom (Thanks Arlo!).
As you can see, throughout this process we have had friends and family helping us tremendously and stepping up with skills (or not) to support this insane endeavor. If you need a plumber, electrician or a tile guy - let us know c; Furthermore, Allen is finishing up his last year at WWU studying Urban Planning and Sustainability. I’ve been slowly building my massage empire - working in 5 different locations ranging from Bow/Edison out to Lummi Island. Needless to say, we’ve been a little bit busy.
We’ve been doing our darndest to stay within a manageable budget, sourcing many components from craigslist and second hand building supply stores. But we’re still not quite able to keep up with the costs of building materials.
This is our appeal to you.
We’re moving Amilia (yes, we’ve named the tiny home) for the second time this May. We’re hoping to finish the exterior siding and bathroom before we hit the road. We’re asking for your help in getting to the finish line of this long journey so that we can get our lives back on track and start planning our next steps as adults (and maybe parents…?) in this world.
I wish we could do it on our own, but honestly it’s been a struggle. Please help us secure liveable housing if you’re able to, and feel free to forward this appeal to anyone you think might be interested in supporting us on this journey! We believe in the power of community, which is why we’re reaching out. We don’t want anyone to break the bank for us, just asking for a few bucks if you got some to spare.
Thank you sincerely,
Shira, Allen & Amilia
