Help Shiyanne on her artistic journey ❤️

Hi everyone! My name is Shiyanne Dunkley and I am a full-time college student with an immense passion for the arts. Art plays a substantial role in my daily experiences. Creating art is a way for me to escape from reality, and navigate the world. Painting is what keeps me going by reminding me of all the peaceful and calming things in a chaotic world.

I am an extremely passionate force, whose artistic goal is to increase the representation of black and brown people in bodies of work. My work portrays black and brown faces/experiences as ones of power-- something that is much more needed in the art space.

Finding the balance between being a full-time student and keeping my passion alive has been strenuous. It is also hard to keep up with my artistry due to the expense of painting supplies.

I am doing a fundraiser to raise money for my supplies because I would like to continue to create meaningful bodies of work to share with the world. I want to keep my art alive. By receiving these funds of support, it would relieve a financial bind off myself and my mother.

I currently work with oil paints which is surprisingly a very expensive medium especially since there are so many different components that come along with oil painting.
