Help Shopper-Aide support the over-60s in your community
Shopper-Aide was established in Campbeltown in 2011 to support those over 60 to live independently at home. Today Shopper-Aide supports over 260 clients with our shopping, housekeeping, social groups, laundry, befriending and community transport services.
We do Shopping, Housekeeping and Social Activities and we also have a laundry service with over 60% of our clients over 60.
Our services are available to everyone over the age of 60 in South Kintyre, from Clachan to Southend and can be particularly helpful to clients living with additional challenges such as reduced mobility, dementia, social isolation and loneliness.
Celebrating St Patricks Day
We have all felt the effects of the cost-of-living crisis and like many charitable organisations, Shopper-Aide has been affected by increases in costs across the board, rising fuel, utility and insurance costs increased demand for our services and an extremely challenging funding environment caused by the oversubscription of available grant funding. While we have been able to maintain our services to this point through the support of the community and grant funders including the National Lottery and Royal Countryside Fund it has also required us to use our operational reserves which has left us in a difficult financial position.
We are asking for your support to help us raise 3 months of operating costs to allow us to maintain our position while we make changes to reduce our core costs and ensure that Shopper-Aide is there to help the over-60s in South Kintyre for years to come.
