Help Shyanne Honor Uncle Nate's Memory

Hello, all. My name is Shyanne Hoffman, and I am the niece of Nathan Mitchell. My uncle Nate was recently homeless after being released from prison a few years ago. Our family had been assisting him with groceries, shelter, and monetary needs as much as we could. Although we were helping, he was still living in his vehicle at different parks and truck stops in the area. He had many health issues and had been in and out of the hospital countless times since he’d been on the streets. My mother (Kim) had been letting him use her washer, dryer, kitchen and bathroom as needed, as well as letting him stay the night whenever he wanted a warm and dry place to stay. Unfortunately when my mother returned from work on the evening of December 19, she found my uncle’s lifeless body in her bathroom cold and unresponsive. The paramedics, Sheriff, and medical examiner were all in my mother’s home trying to make sense of everything, and related his death to his underlying medical issues. My uncle didn’t have many friends and found solace in the park where he was staying, as well as the ducks and the geese that he called his friends. Our family has decided not to have a funeral for him because it’s not what he would’ve wanted. We are hoping to have him cremated and possibly have a small visitation service with the friends and family that would like to attend. With Nate being homeless and disabled, he had no money saved and no life insurance to fall back on, so I figured I’d give this a shot. If anything, PLEASE keep our family (especially my mother) in your thoughts and prayers. No one should have to find their sibling deceased in their own house.
