Help Sienna Fight Brain Cancer and Preserve Her Future

We are the family and friends of freshly turned 18 year-old Sienna Barbara, and we are reaching out for support to help her access life-extending medication.

Just days before Christmas, Sienna had her first tonic-clonic seizure, setting off a whirlwind of hospital visits, scans, and ultimately, the discovery of a significant brain tumor.

Despite its size, Sienna showed no obvious symptoms—her incredible brain had adapted.

Since then, she’s endured countless tests, two hospital stays, seven MRI’s and a grueling 8-hour surgery that removed most of the tumor leaving some only to preserve her sight.

Sienna is nothing short of extraordinary. Her strength, resilience, grace and self-advocacy through all of this inspire everyone around her. She shouldn’t have to worry about the cost of her care—she deserves every chance at a full, vibrant life.

Now, we have a chance to give her more time. A new drug, Voresidnib, could slow the tumor’s growth and delay the need for harsh treatments like radiation, chemotherapy and repeat surgeries all of which could affect her long-term health, wellness, longevity, overall quality of life including her eyesight.

Her doctors—who are some of the best in the world—believe this is her best option, but it’s not covered by government funding. To make it possible, we need to raise approx $100,000 over the next two years, with an estimated cost of $27,000 every six months.

Sienna’s brain tumor is chronic and will never go away, these new therapies offer her the chance to live the life a teenage girl should be able to.
