Meet the incredibly talented Sina!

Our daughter is currently a senior who plays on her high school Varsity volleyball team as Outside Hitter. She has also played in the top teams for most of her age groups in competitive club volleyball for 5 years in the North TX region.

She choose to play competitively in this sport just before her 8th grade year in middle school but even though she started later in the sport, her passion for volleyball is unmatched, and she’s ready to shine at the upcoming Samoa Bowl Volleyball Tournament being held in American Samoa Dec 25 2023 through Jan 1 2024.

The Journey Begins:

In 2018, Sina, my determined 7th-grader, approached me with a dream she was very passionate about – she wanted to play volleyball competitively. At that moment, I couldn't help but think if having two Aunts (Aunt Tawny & Aunt May) who played both High School & College Volleyball could have been a contributor to this dream - I am almost sure it was a factor. So grateful for their examples and inspiration that helped to jumpstart this journey for our Sina.

I can vividly recall that moment, as if it happened just yesterday. With a mix of excitement and concern, I asked her if she comprehended the commitment and expectations that came with playing volleyball at such a competitive level.

Sina understood the journey ahead wouldn’t be easy; she recognized the mental fortitude and dedication required to excel in this demanding sport. Despite joining the lowest-level team due to our late arrival at tryouts, her coaches saw her untapped potential. Sina responded with relentless hard work and unwavering determination on the court. Even when her team faced challenges that season, she chose to learn and grow, embracing every opportunity to better herself.

After practices, she’d stay on the court, wanting to keep playing and improving. Over the past four years, I’ve watched in awe as Sina’s volleyball journey unfolded. She’s moved on to play for four top travel teams, excelled on her high school’s top freshmen and sophomore teams, and spent two years competing on the varsity high school team.

Along the way, she faced injuries and played in positions she didn’t initially desire, but these experiences enriched her volleyball IQ and honed her skills and opened up opportunities for her to play with & alongside other high caliber volleyball players her age at both High School & Club levels.

Sina isn’t a stranger to the trials that every volleyball athlete encounters, but what sets her apart is her remarkable ability to adapt, reframe setbacks, and transform them into stepping stones. Volleyball has played a significant role in shaping her into the incredible person and athlete she is today.

Now, Sina has an opportunity to take her passion for the game to the courts of American Samoa in the Samoa Bowl Tournament. Her love for volleyball has not wavered, and the sport has molded her into the remarkable individual she is today.

This is where you come in. We’re on a mission to raise $5000 to cover the travel costs required for Sina to compete in the Samoa Bowl Tournament held in American Samoa from December 25th 2023 to January 1st, 2024. To be transparent, $3500 will go toward airfare and the remaining $1500 will go toward lodging, meals, gear needed to allow her to compete at her best during this tournament.

We also created a Facebook Group, 'Volleyball Dreams In Samoa ,' Here all her supporters get a front-row seat to all the incredible experiences she'll be part of as she takes her passion for volleyball to an international stage in American Samoa. Your presence in our group makes all the difference!

Together, we can make this journey unforgettable! Your contribution will make this dream a reality. Join us in supporting Sina, a resilient athlete who has overcome countless hurdles to become the extraordinary volleyball player she is today.

Please donate and help us reach our goal. Your generosity can make a difference in Sina’s journey and allow her to showcase her talent and love for the game on an even grander stage. Let’s come together and make this dream come true for Sina.

With much Love & Gratitude,
