Help Single Mom Fighting Black Mold and Flood

Hi everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to you on behalf of a resilient and hardworking single mother who is facing an urgent and overwhelming situation. Our friend Batina Fountain, a dedicated and loving mom, is in the midst of a housing crisis that has left her home in an unlivable state due to black mold and flooding.

Despite working tirelessly at two jobs to provide for her family, Batina has been confronted with a devastating reality. The damage to her home is extensive, and she is now faced with potential health hazards associated with black mold. Unfortunately, her homeowner's insurance does not cover flood damage, leaving her in a precarious financial situation.

We believe in the power of community, and that's why we've started this GoFundMe campaign. Our goal is to raise $30,000 to help Batina restore her home and provide a safe and healthy environment for her and her children. The funds will be used for essential repairs, mold remediation, and any additional costs associated with making her home habitable again. I have personally already donated 42 hours of my time, along with help from 2 other friends of mine. We have remediated a large portion of the mold, rebuilt and entire wall of the house and cut a trench in the concrete outside to help direct water away from the house in times of heavy rain. But we still need to replace another wall infested with mold, regrade the concrete outside so that it slants away from the home, resurface the concrete floor inside the flooded room, texture and paint both walls, rewire electrical outlets in this ancient house with very sketchy wiring in the flooded room, and re-stucco the outside of the 2 affected walls. Unfortunately my abilities are limited and I cannot assist with the electrical, stucco, concrete or texturing. And she is completely out of money for the project, having spent her entire nest egg on materials and supplies for the work we've already completed.
