We are reaching out to rally support for our dear friend, Marie-Louise Willis, a 47-year-old single mother who has shown extraordinary resilience in the face of overwhelming hardship. Marie-Louise is the devoted mum to two children, Ash (18) and Amy (15). Amy has a rare genetic condition that requires 24/7 care, leaving Marie-Louise with immense responsibilities.

Now, she’s facing an even greater battle: on October 4, 2024, Marie-Louise was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, which has spread throughout her body. This devastating diagnosis has brought her world to a standstill, as she grapples with excruciating pain, extreme fatigue, and the heavy financial burden of treatment—all while continuing to care for Amy.

The Challenges She Faces:

Marie-Louise’s journey has always been one of sacrifice and strength. Over the past 11 years, she has worked tirelessly as the sole caregiver and provider for her children, ensuring a stable and loving home.

Amy’s condition is complex, requiring specialised care, including:

Being fed through a PEG tube with a handmade ketogenic, gluten-free formula to minimise seizures.
Full assistance with mobility, hygiene, and daily activities.

Marie-Louise’s cancer diagnosis has introduced new and urgent challenges:

Severe pain and mobility limitations due to cancer spread in her spine, pelvis, and limbs.
An upcoming surgery to stabilise her humerus with a titanium rod, leaving her one-handed until recovery.
Extreme fatigue from Amy’s nighttime needs, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy treatments.
Financial strain from mounting medical bills and basic household expenses, as she is currently unable to work.
