On Sunday, June 16, 2024, the unimaginable happened to a family of six. The Singleton family was struck by tragedy when a fire ripped through their apartment in Jacksonville, Fl. Sadly their family dog passed away. Five children ages 8-14, and a single mother, now have nothing at all. They need everything from clothes and shoes, to basic necessities. They need a second chance to rebuild their life after this life-changing experience. Please consider donating even the smallest amount. "The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department (JFRD) informed Action News Jax that around 9:30 a.m., a two-alarm fire heavily damaged four apartments, affecting the first and second floors, as well as the roof and attic space.
JFRD Captain Eric Proswimmer spoke with Action News Jax about the fire, saying, “Crews arrived on scene to heavy fire conditions. They made an interior attack and went after the fire. The second alarm was quickly called by command upon arrival. There’s severe damage.”
