Help Sione Laufoli Latu with medical expenses
Our father, Sione Lafauli Latu, has suffered a severe work-related injury and needs your help.
On Friday, August 20th, Sione was working as a tree climber in Maui when he fell. The fall put him in the ICU and has left him paralyzed. He’s undergone two surgeries so far, with more scheduled on the way, in addition to physical therapy.
Sione is a Tongan native who came to America on an LDS mission and fell in love with the country. After moving to Utah, he married his first wife, Amber Latu, becoming an instant father to her first son. For over a decade, they created a family and supported one another through the loss of a child.
Since Amber passed away in 2017, he and his wife, Lavinia Latu, have been working extra hours to provide for his family and help local Hawaiians. A father to five living children and six living grandchildren, he works hard to help his family and community. Now, we’re asking you to help him the way he has dedicated his life to caring for others.
We’re grateful that our father is alive, but the injury has damaged his body and his mentality. He’s worried about becoming a burden on his wife and kids, and you can help us show him that we all care too much about him to let him live with that fear. By donating to this cause and sharing his story, you’ll be joining our family in this lifetime battle.
The money raised will be going to pay for his piling medical bills and future care. As his family, we’re not going to stop helping our father see the love and positivity this life has to offer. Thank you for helping anyway you can, you are appreciated!
