Help Skip Johnson Get His Car Repaired...Urgent!

Hi, I'm Elizabeth Massie. And I'm here in hopes we can come together to help Eugene "Skip" Johnson get his car repaired.

Life can throw us curve balls, some of which can knock our feet out from under us. Through no fault of our own, we can run headlong into scary financial situations that we just can’t handle. And this is when a community of caring, compassionate people can come together to make a huge difference in the life of someone.

Skip Johnson is a Bram Stoker-winning editor, whose publications are widely read and respected. Some of his projects include Where Nightmares Come From: The Art of Storytelling in the Horror Genre, It’s Alive: Bringing Your Nightmares to Life, Drive-In Creature Feature, Fantastic Tales of Terror, and many more. Yet, those of us in the creative fields know that as hard and as tirelessly as we might work, we sometimes find ourselves struggling. Skip has encountered a very rough, tough spot and is in need of some help.

His old car is at what I call its “wits end.” It needs a new transmission and several other major repairs in order to get it back on the road with Eugene and his lovely family inside it. Transportation is a basic need, as we all know. And so, I’ve started this campaign in the hopes that Eugene’s friends and caring strangers can help him get these critical repairs done. For now, the old car sits at the mechanics shop until the money can be raised.

For those who don’t know him, Eugene is a kind and caring family man. He and his wife are dedicated parents to their kids. And Skip would do anything for anyone…and he has. He’s helped me and others when we’ve faced our own struggles. It would be wonderful if we rallied to help him now! The total cost of repairs is approx. $4,500. That’s the goal. I know we can reach it if enough of us step up. Donations, whatever the amount, will be greatly appreciated!

And to help get this going, Eugene and I are both offering the following to those who donate certain amounts:

*For a donation of $15.00 to $24.00, Eugene will send you hand drawn piece of art as a thank you. He loves drawing old cartoons and monsters.

*For a donation of $25.00 to $49.00 or more will, Eugene will send you a copy of an upcoming anthology slated to be edited by Eugene, with your name listed in the "Dedication" page, signed by Eugene.

*For a $50 donation, I (Elizabeth) will send the donor one of my very cozy, hand-knit hats! As we know, fall and winter will return and this will keep you warm! (Sample hat...color will vary depending on the hats I have on hand, but I can promise it will be cozy and delightful!):

*For a $50 donation, Eugene will send the donor a "Horror Scare Package" - A box that will contain a book, movie, candy, small horror theme toys, and a piece of hand drawn art by Eugene Johnson and goodies. (There are 10 available)

*For a $100 donation, I (Elizabeth) will send the donor, for free, one of my very cozy, long, hand-knit scarves! As we know, fall and winter WILL return and this will keep you warm! (Sample scarf...colors will vary depending on the scarves on hand, but I can promise it will be cozy and delightful!):

*For a $100 donation, Eugene will send the donor a "Deluxe Scare Package - Horror Scare Package" - a box that will contain two books (at least one signed), a movie, candy, small horror theme toys, a deluxe toy such as a Pop, and 2 pieces of hand drawn art by Eugene and other goodies.  (There are 10 available.) (Some of the goodies from the Horror Scare Package):

*For a $200 donation, I (Elizabeth) will send the donor, for free, a matching cozy hand-knit hat and hand-knit scarf! And, if I might repeat myself yet again, fall and winter WILL RETURN and these will keep you warm! (Sample scarf/hat set...colors will vary depending on the sets I on hand, but I can promise they will be cozy and delightful!):
